Frankincense and vetiver at the bottom of the shelf. Lavender, rosemary and geranium through the middle. Sweet orange and grapefruit at the bright top. Thirty-one single botanicals in 100ml amber glass — a working range rather than a sampler, and one priced oil by oil according to what each plant actually gives up.
That last part is worth a moment. Rose and jasmine cost several times what sweet orange and cypress do here, because a field of roses yields a fraction of what a crate of orange peel does. A single-botanical range where every bottle carries the same price is telling you something about the expensive ones; this one lets the plants set the price, which is the shape you want.
The thirty-one cover most of what a shelf needs. Lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, tea tree, rosemary, lemon, sweet orange, grapefruit, bergamot and lemongrass handle the everyday. Frankincense, sandalwood, patchouli, vetiver, cedarwood, cypress and juniper give a blend its weight. Rose, jasmine, ylang ylang, geranium, chamomile and clary sage cover the florals, and clove, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, basil, cajeput, citronella and vanilla fill in the warm and the sharp.
Each arrives in a printed box with its own glass dropper, separate rather than fitted — so the screw cap seals properly between uses and the bottle is ready to give exactly as it comes. PHATOIL states a three-year shelf life and marks the box for 24 months once opened, and the packaging carries a not-tested-on-animals mark. Amber glass earns its place at this size: a 100ml bottle lasts long enough that daylight has time to work on it.
Three to five drops per 100ml of water in a diffuser; six to twelve drops per 30ml of carrier oil on the body, half that for the face, patch tested first. Two notes before you order: "therapeutic grade" on the label is the manufacturer's phrase rather than any certification, and the FDA certificate in the images registers the manufacturing facility rather than approving the oil — its own text says so. We report both because they are on the packaging.
