This hand-carved mortar and pestle set is crafted from natural black soapstone, a dense, smooth stone valued for centuries for grinding and blending. At approximately 5" in diameter and 2" tall, it's sized for grinding herbs, spices, resins, or small botanicals by hand.
Each piece is carved individually, so slight variations in color, veining, and shape are natural and expected—no two are exactly alike.
Care & Use
Soapstone is porous, so if you plan to use this mortar and pestle for both culinary ingredients and non-food materials (such as incense, resin, or ritual herbs), we recommend keeping a separate set for each to avoid cross-contamination. Hand wash with warm water and a soft brush; avoid soaking or dishwashers, which can damage the stone's finish.
