Of our three door knockers, the Dragon Door Knocker is the largest, and the detail on the dragon head reflects that extra scale. It's hand-cast in cold cast resin and hand-painted afterward, giving the head more depth and individual character than a simply molded design.
A metal knocking ring and knob provide the actual functional hardware, and four attachment holes make for a straightforward, secure mounting job — mark the holes, attach the ring, and it's ready for regular use. At roughly 10 inches by 5 1/2 inches by 3 inches, it's noticeably larger than our Medusa or Greenman knockers, built to be noticed from the street rather than only up close, especially against a lighter-colored door.
Because each dragon head is hand-painted, slight variation between individual pieces is normal, so no two knockers are perfectly identical. As with our other knockers, some owners repurpose it as a decorative bathroom towel holder rather than mounting it on a door, taking advantage of its wall-mount shape in a second room.
