This Elegua Head statue is made from cowrie shells and concrete, standing approximately 6 inches tall, depicting Elegua as a head-form figure with cowrie shell detailing over a durable concrete base.

Elegua is honored in real, currently practiced Santeria/Lucumi devotion as a messenger between practitioners and the other Orishas and as guardian of crossroads and pathways; this head-form statue is a devotional or decorative item for a personal altar or an existing practitioner's ongoing practice, not a shortcut to formal initiation or priesthood, which in real Santeria/Lucumi practice comes only through initiation by a trained santero, santera, or babalawo.

What this statue reliably delivers is a genuine cowrie-shell-and-concrete head piece built around Elegua's role as messenger and guardian of crossroads, not a shortcut to formal initiation or priesthood.

Cowrie shells are a material long used in Santeria iconography, and the head-only form shown here reflects a recognized style of depicting Elegua distinct from a full-figure statue, tied to his role in Yoruba and Santeria/Lucumi practice as a messenger who carries offerings between practitioners and the other Orishas, and as guardian of crossroads and pathways. The concrete base gives this piece real, lasting stability for everyday altar or shrine display, while the cowrie shell detailing calls for gentler care than the base alone. We carry four Elegua-themed products in total, and each is genuinely distinct: this 6-inch Elegua Head is the smaller of our two head-only listings, a 7-inch version of the same head style is also available, and our Baby Elegua and Orisha Elegua statues are full-figure pieces in different materials, sizes, and price points. At 6 inches tall, this is a compact, focused piece for anyone drawn specifically to Elegua's head-form iconography.

Display the statue on a stable altar or shrine surface, dust the cowrie shells gently with a soft, dry cloth, and keep it away from moisture and harsh chemicals.
