Most essential oil is sold in 10ml bottles, which is fine until you actually start using it — a nightly diffuser habit or a single batch of candles empties one in a fortnight. This is the 100ml size: the same single-botanical oils, in a bottle you can keep reaching for.
Thirty-one botanicals are available, each bottled on its own rather than pre-mixed into a house blend. Lavender, chamomile, clary sage and geranium sit at the soft end; peppermint, rosemary, eucalyptus, lemon, sweet orange, grapefruit and bergamot at the bright end; and frankincense, myrrh, vetiver, patchouli, cedarwood and sandalwood carry the deep resinous base notes that hold a blend together. Buying them separately is the point — it is what lets you build your own combinations instead of accepting someone else's.
In a diffuser, five to ten drops scent a room, and the oil works in any of the ultrasonic and cool-mist units in our humidifier and diffuser range, or in a tealight oil burner if you prefer no electricity. Beyond diffusing, the 100ml size is really aimed at people who make things: candles, melts, cold-process soap, bath blends, room sprays, and massage oil diluted into a carrier.
The bottle is amber glass with a black screw cap, and a glass pipette dropper is supplied alongside it. Both matter more than they sound — daylight degrades aromatic compounds, and a pipette lets you count drops instead of pouring and guessing. As a rough working figure, twenty drops is about a millilitre, so a 100ml bottle runs to roughly two thousand drops.
