Fresh linen still warm off the line. Coffee at seven in the morning. Coconut and vanilla, black orchid, parma violet, bubble gum. MAYJAM's fragrance oils are twenty-three finished scents in 10ml bottles — the kind of smells no plant produces — made to survive a pour into hot wax and still be there a month after the candle has cured.
They fall into three groups. The clean and comforting: white musk, fresh linen, baby powder, coconut vanilla, sea breeze — the scents that sell steadily in candles and melts all year. The florals and sweets: freesia, honeysuckle, orange blossom, black orchid, parma violet, japanese magnolia, peach, mandarin, bubble gum. And a set of interpretations of well-known designer perfumes, named on the labels, which are MAYJAM's own readings of a scent direction rather than the perfumes themselves.
Ten millilitres is deliberately a testing size. At an eight per cent fragrance load it makes roughly one medium candle — which is exactly what you want when you are finding out how a scent behaves in your wax, and exactly what you do not want to discover after buying a litre of it. Scent throws differently in soy than in paraffin, and differently again through soap, and no description substitutes for pouring one.
Candles take six to ten per cent of total wax weight, added around 65–70°C and stirred right through so it binds rather than pools. Wax melts go up to about eight, cold-process soap three to six, and an ultrasonic diffuser wants five to ten drops in the tank. Always check the maximum your own wax states — it varies far more than any general figure suggests. And give a candle two weeks to cure before you judge it; a fresh pour tells you almost nothing.
Unlike essential oils, these are composed rather than distilled, so every bottle costs the same — no plant yield to price around, which makes costing a product line straightforward. If it is plant-derived oils you want for diffusing, that is a different shelf entirely, and we would rather send you there than sell you the wrong thing.
