Nandita Seven Angels Incense Sticks are handcrafted from rare herbs, flowers, natural resins and essential oils, built around jasmine, ylang-ylang and lemongrass, in a 15 g pack. Each stick burns for approximately forty-five to sixty minutes.

Three named botanicals is the real distinction here. Almost every other listing in the Nandita range says rare herbs, flowers, resins and essential oils and stops, which tells you the class of material but nothing about the smell. Here you can picture the fragrance before you light it.

And the combination is well judged. Jasmine and ylang-ylang are both heavy, sweet florals — ylang-ylang in particular is intensely sweet and faintly banana-like, one of the richest things in perfumery — and two of them together would be overwhelming. Lemongrass cuts across both with something green and citrus, and that is what keeps the blend fresh rather than cloying.

It is the brightest fragrance in the range as a result, and the most versatile. The listing suggests bedrooms, meditation corners, living rooms and entryways, and a floral-citrus is genuinely the safest thing to light in a room where other people will arrive. More of the range sits in our Nandita collection.

Handcrafted is the construction word this listing uses, and it carries the usual consequence: an aromatic paste worked onto the stick by hand puts the fragrance through the body rather than on the surface, so the jasmine is still there in the last third of the burn rather than only the first. The angelic name, by contrast, is a framing rather than a claim. Nothing here is claimed to summon, invoke or attract anything, and we report the theme as a theme.

The supplier describes the formulation as natural, non-toxic and ozone-friendly; no certifying body is named, so that is their statement rather than a standard. The 15 g pack prints no stick count and includes no holder. More of the category sits in our Incense Sticks collection.
