Avocado oil is cold-pressed from Persea gratissima (avocado) fruit into a light-to-medium oil with a mild, buttery aroma and a pale green-to-golden color. It's naturally rich in vitamins A, D, and E, along with oleic and linoleic fatty acids.
Despite its nutrient density, the texture is light enough for daily use and absorbs without a greasy feel. Many people use it as a face and body oil, a scalp and hair conditioner — helping with softer ends and reduced frizz — or a massage base with good slip.
It also works well as a carrier base for essential oil blends, at roughly 1% dilution for the face or 2–3% for the body.
