Neem oil is cold-pressed from the seeds of Azadirachta indica, a tree with deep roots in Ayurvedic tradition. It's a thick, potent oil with a strong, distinctive earthy-garlic scent and a deep amber-to-brown color — noticeably different from lighter, more neutral carrier oils.
Because it's so concentrated, it's almost always used diluted rather than applied directly. Many people blend it into a facial or body oil at roughly 5–10%, or mix it into scalp treatments and DIY skincare formulas. We describe its traditional use honestly rather than promising specific outcomes like clearer skin or fewer blemishes — individual results vary and we don't make those claims.
Its strong aroma is worth planning for — blending it with lavender, tea tree, or lemongrass essential oil can help balance the scent in a finished formula.
For external use only. Always dilute before applying to skin, patch test first, avoid contact with eyes, and consult a healthcare provider before use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
