Sacred Elements Juniper & White Sage Masala Incense Sticks pair powdered juniper with white sage in a masala base, twenty sticks to a pack at approximately 30 to 40 minutes per stick.
Juniper is the half of this blend people know least about. Those blue juniper berries are not berries at all but fleshy seed cones, the same ones that give gin its flavor, and burning juniper wood and cones for purification is a European habit that predates any contact with the Americas by a very long way. Its smoke is dry, green and resinous, with a sharp coniferous edge.
Which makes the pairing worth being clear about. Juniper was burned in Europe and white sage in North America, by peoples with no contact between them, and putting the two in one stick is a modern commercial decision rather than an inherited recipe. It smells good. It is not an old blend, and we are not going to imply it is.
White sage is where the care is needed. It is a sacred medicine in many North American Indigenous traditions, burned in ceremony by the communities who hold that practice, and a manufactured stick is not that ceremony. The source listing says the aroma neutralizes negativity; we will not repeat that.
What the stick actually does is fill a room with a dry, herbal, coniferous smoke that many people find steadying to sit with. That is enough, and it is all we will claim. White sage in its unprocessed form sits in our Sage collection.
No holder is included. Set a fire-safe holder on a stable, heat-resistant surface before lighting, keep the stick out of direct drafts so it burns evenly, and let the ash and holder cool fully before they are cleared. More of the range sits in our Sacred Elements Incense collection.
