Sacred Elements Mugwort & White Sage Masala Incense Sticks carry a herbaceous mugwort and white sage blend on a masala base, twenty sticks to a pack at approximately 30 to 45 minutes per stick.

Mugwort is Artemisia vulgaris, and it is the most uncompromising thing in this whole range. Burned, it is green and genuinely bitter, closer to crushed weeds and dry hay than to anything sweet or resinous. People who like it like it a great deal; people who do not will know within a minute. It is worth knowing that before buying twenty sticks of it.

One caution belongs here rather than in the small print. Mugwort sits in the Asteraceae family alongside daisies and ragweed, and mugwort pollen is a well-documented seasonal allergen. Burning is not the same as inhaling pollen, but if you react to ragweed or to that family generally, burn one stick and see before committing to the rest.

The listing calls this an ancient aroma pairing inspired by Roman-era traditions. Mugwort genuinely does have a long European history, and its genus is named for Artemis. White sage, however, grows in North America and was used there by peoples with no contact with Rome. The two halves have long histories; the pairing itself is modern, and we would rather say so.

White sage is also a sacred medicine in many North American Indigenous traditions, and we report that as practice rather than as a property of the stick. The listing's claim that the blend dispels negative vibes is not one we will repeat. More of the plant in unprocessed form sits in our Sage collection.

No holder is included. Set a fire-safe holder on a stable, heat-resistant surface before lighting, keep the stick out of direct drafts, and let the ash and holder cool fully before they are cleared. More of the range sits in our Sacred Elements Incense collection.
