Where peppermint is sharp and icy, spearmint is cool and sweet — a gentler, more approachable mint with a warmer aromatic profile. Steam-distilled from the leaves, it arrives undiluted and single-botanical.
Diffused alone, it creates a fresh, sweet mint atmosphere; it also blends smoothly with lavender for a calming fresh-floral combination, or lemon and bergamot for a bright citrus-mint blend.
Spearmint's active compound is carvone rather than menthol, giving it a softer, more blend-friendly character than peppermint — diluted, it also makes a comforting abdomen massage oil.
Not recommended for children under 6; as with any essential oil, dilute before skin contact and patch test first.
