Tangerine is the gentlest, sweetest member of the citrus family — warmer and softer than orange, and gentler than grapefruit, without the sharpness that can make some citrus oils feel intense. Cold-pressed from the peel, it arrives undiluted and single-botanical.
Diffused alone, it creates a warm, sweet citrus atmosphere; it also blends well with ylang ylang and bergamot for a soft, romantic combination, or with cedarwood for warmth.
Unlike sharper citrus oils, many people find tangerine calming rather than stimulating, making it a popular choice for evening diffusing as well as daytime brightness.
Like other cold-pressed citrus oils, tangerine is phototoxic — avoid direct sun exposure on treated skin for at least 12 hours after topical use, and dilute before skin contact.
