Kamini Jasmine Incense Cones carry a sweet, floral aroma, the night-blooming character that has made jasmine one of the most widely burned fragrances in Indian incense. Ten cones come in the pack, each burning for roughly fifteen minutes, and a small metal stand ships alongside them so the pack is ready to use as it arrives.

What keeps jasmine from becoming cloying is the green edge underneath it. The sweetness is floral rather than sugary, and that faint leafy note sitting below the petal gives the fragrance somewhere to go instead of simply sitting heavy in the room once a cone has finished burning.

Compared with the frangipani cones in the same range, this is the lighter and more open of the two. Frangipani is creamier and fuller, with a fruited quality underneath; jasmine reads brighter and takes a room more quickly. Both sit in our Incense Cone collection if you want to compare them directly.

Fifteen minutes suits the fragrance well. It is enough to scent a room for the evening ahead without the jasmine running through the whole of it, which matters more with a sweet floral than with a resin — sweetness that outstays its welcome is the usual complaint about floral incense, and a short burn avoids it.

Each cone is aromatic material the whole way through, with no bamboo core, so the fragrance arrives at full strength shortly after the flame goes out. Cone smoke is denser than stick smoke, so open a window in a small room and let the stand and ash cool completely before tipping them away.

Keep the box closed between uses somewhere cool and dry, as damp is what dulls a pressed cone first. For jasmine in longer-burning stick form and the rest of the floral range, see our Incense collection and the Incense Sticks collection.
