Why flat pricing is worth a second look. Botanicals do not cost the same to produce. A range where rose, sandalwood and lemon all land within two dollars of each other cannot be pricing by raw material, and no genuinely distilled rose reaches 100ml at this price. That is not a scandal — it is just a fact worth knowing before you choose.

The supplier says it plainly, so we will too. EVOKE OCCU’s own artwork describes the range as “essential oil & fragrance oil”. Read this as a mixed range: the lemongrass, eucalyptus, peppermint, tea tree, lemon and sweet orange are inexpensive botanicals that genuinely can sell at this price, while the rose, jasmine, sandalwood and vanilla are best understood as scented preparations built around those names.

Which makes it excellent at one job. For diffusing, room sprays, soap and candles — where you want a good smell in quantity and are not making a therapeutic claim — a large cheap bottle is exactly right. For a single-botanical distillate you can document, the Diffuser Essential Oil collection has ranges that publish GC analysis.

On the “FDA” badge in the images. The supplier’s artwork shows a US FDA certificate of registration. That is a facility registration — a factory telling the FDA it exists — and the certificate itself states that registration does not denote approval. It is not an FDA approval, endorsement or certification of anything in this bottle, and we would rather explain it than let it imply something it does not mean.

Somewhere to run it. The humidifier and diffuser range covers ultrasonic and cold-air units, and the oil burners need only a tealight.

A hundred millilitres of the oils you burn through. Lemongrass, eucalyptus, peppermint, sweet orange, lemon and tea tree are the ones that empty fastest, and this is a large bottle at a small price. For those six in particular it is straightforwardly good value.

One price, near enough, for everything. The entire range sits within a couple of dollars end to end. That makes choosing simple, and it tells you something specific about the contents — see below, because we would rather explain it than let it pass.

Big, plain and practical. An 11.5cm bottle with a black cap and a clear printed label. Nothing here is trying to be a gift; it is a working bottle for a diffuser, a soap batch or a room spray.

Three years, stored below 30°C. EVOKE OCCU's own stated figure, printed on the packaging along with the storage temperature. Follow any date on the bottle in preference to it.

In a diffuser. Three to five drops per 100ml of water, per the maker’s own guidance. Rinse the reservoir between scents so residue from one does not dull the next.

In a room or linen spray. About ten drops per 100ml of water or alcohol. Shake before every use — oil and water separate, and an unshaken bottle sprays water and then neat oil.

In soap. Half a percent to two percent of the soap, per the maker. Test a single loaf before committing a batch; vanilla-heavy scents are the likeliest to discolour a bar.

In candles. Five to ten percent of the wax, added off the heat. Test a single pour first and expect a softer throw than a dedicated candle fragrance oil gives.

Steam inhalation. Five drops in a bowl of hot water, head under a towel, eyes closed, water below boiling. Sensible with the eucalyptus and peppermint, and not suitable for young children.

A mixed range, described as such. EVOKE OCCU lists the raw material as plant and flower material, and its own artwork covers both essential oil and fragrance oil. We read that as a mixed range and have said above which end each scent falls at.

Fourteen scents, fourteen behaviours. Composition differs by variant, so performance in wax, soap and heat differs too, and nothing established with one carries over to another.

Documentation. If you need a safety data sheet or allergen declaration for a specific scent, ask before ordering and we will check what the supplier is able to provide. We would not rely on the FDA registration shown in the images for anything.

Three years, below 30°C. Both figures are EVOKE OCCU’s own, printed on the packaging. Treat them as the maker’s guidance rather than a guarantee.

Cool, dark, capped, upright. Keep the cap firm between uses and the bottle out of sunlight and away from radiators. Do not refrigerate it — the maker specifically advises against that.

Citrus goes first. Lemon, sweet orange and bergamot oxidise fastest and turn sharp. Buy those with a plan for using them.

Mind what it stands on. Undiluted oil marks polished and painted surfaces and can soften some plastics. Decant over something wipeable and clear spills straight away.

For external use only. EVOKE OCCU states this on the packaging and we repeat it: not to be swallowed, and not to be applied neat to skin. Dilute in a carrier oil for any skin contact and patch test first.

Away from eyes and mucous membranes. Rinse with plenty of water if it gets in the eyes, and seek advice if irritation persists.

Pregnancy and children. The supplier’s own material suggests halving the dose. We would rather say: ask a qualified professional. Eucalyptus and peppermint in particular are commonly flagged as unsuitable for babies and young children, including in a diffuser in a closed room.

Pets. Tea tree and several other oils here are poorly tolerated by cats and dogs. Diffuse only in a room a pet can leave freely and keep bottles out of reach.

What the icons claim, and what we claim. The supplier artwork carries icons for sleep, mood, stress and air purification. We do not make those claims. This is a scent product; anything therapeutic belongs with a qualified professional.
