The most broadly loved scent in aromatherapy. Fresh, clean, and floral in a way that is neither too sweet nor too sharp, and that most people respond to positively regardless of their usual fragrance preferences.

A genuine first oil, and a lasting one. Approachable enough for someone new to essential oils, and versatile enough that experienced users keep it in daily rotation.

Several places to use it. A diffuser or oil burner for ambient scenting, or diluted into a carrier oil for massage, skin care, or a bath soak.

Sized to how you use it. 15ml to try it, 30ml for regular use, 60ml if lavender is already part of your daily routine — with the larger sizes costing less per ml.

Sleep support. A long-time favorite for winding down — diffused in a bedroom or applied to pillow fabric, lavender is widely loved for creating a calm, restful atmosphere before sleep.

Calm and relaxation. One of the most popular aromatherapy oils for easing everyday tension and creating a calming atmosphere at any time of day.

Skin care. Gentle and soothing once diluted — a popular choice for everyday skin comfort in a carrier-oil blend or unscented moisturizer.

Universal blending. Pairs well with virtually every other essential oil — citrus, wood, floral, herbal — making it the essential blending partner in almost any aromatic collection.

In a diffuser. 5–6 drops in a bedroom 30–45 minutes before sleep, or 4–5 drops during the day for general calm. Blends well with bergamot, cedarwood, eucalyptus, or orange.

For massage. Dilute 5–6 drops in 15ml of carrier oil for a relaxing massage blend.

For skin care. Add 3–4 drops to 30ml of carrier oil for a calming facial or body oil.

For a bath. Dilute 8–10 drops in a tablespoon of carrier oil or bath emulsifier before adding to warm bathwater — never add undiluted oil directly to the tub.

One ingredient. 100% Lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil, steam-distilled — nothing blended in.

Valued for linalool and linalyl acetate. The two compounds most linked with lavender's characteristic soft, calming aroma.

Documentation on request. If you need an IFRA statement or allergen declaration, ask before ordering so we can check what the supplier holds.

Cool, dark, tightly capped. Heat and daylight age the oil fastest — store the bottle upright, away from direct sun.

General guide. Stored properly, lavender oil typically holds its character for a year or more; treat that as guidance and follow any date on the bottle first.

Mind what it sits on. Undiluted oil can mark polished or painted surfaces — decant over something wipeable.

Dilute before skin contact. Always mix into a carrier oil before applying to skin — lavender is occasionally used neat on very small areas by experienced users, but we recommend dilution for all regular use.

Patch test first. Test a small area of skin before full application, especially if you have sensitive skin.

Away from eyes, never swallowed. Keep clear of eyes, inner ears, and mucous membranes; rinse with plenty of water and seek advice if irritation persists.

Extra care with pregnancy and children. Consult a healthcare provider before use during pregnancy or with a known health condition. Generally regarded as suitable around children over 2 with appropriate dilution — use a lighter dilution (0.5–1%) for topical use on children.
