Night Queen is raat ki rani, the night-blooming jasmine of South Asia, and the name is literal rather than decorative. The flower opens after dark, and its scent is correspondingly heavier and sweeter than a daytime bloom — the reason it has its own category in Indian incense rather than being folded in with jasmine.
