Why Choose Our Balaji Backflow Incense

Balaji is a long-running Indian incense maker best known for its traditional masala agarbatti and its dramatic backflow incense cones.

About Balaji

Balaji Incense was established in 1957 and has spent more than 65 years making incense from its facility in Bengaluru, Karnataka. What began as a maker and seller of incense sticks has grown into a company producing more than 500 products, now exported to more than 30 countries.

What Makes Balaji Distinctive

Balaji specializes in traditional masala agarbatti — hand-rolling a paste of natural aromatic ingredients onto a bamboo core, or without one — alongside dhoop sticks, dhoop cones, and its distinctive backflow cones, which are formulated to send incense smoke flowing downward over a backflow burner for a dramatic waterfall effect.

How to Burn Balaji Incense Safely

For sticks, light the tip until it glows and blow out the flame so it smolders in a heatproof holder. For backflow cones, light the tip, let it burn for a few seconds, then blow out the flame and set the cone on a dedicated backflow burner so the smoke flows downward. Burn in a ventilated room away from flammable materials, and never leave lit incense unattended.
