Daily care oils are the light, largely unscented ones — jojoba, coconut, sesame, safflower — chosen because they absorb quickly enough to use every morning without changing your routine. They double as blending bases if you want to scent them yourself.
Benefits of a Daily Oil
An oil only becomes a daily habit if it is quick and unobtrusive. These absorb in about a minute, so you can dress straight after, and carry little or no fragrance of their own, so they layer under perfume or aftershave without clashing. That plainness is also what makes them the most useful bases in the range: add a few drops of an essential oil and the same bottle becomes whatever you want it to be.
How to Choose a Daily Oil
Jojoba is the most versatile and closest to the skin's own sebum, which makes it a safe default for most skin types. Grape seed and safflower are lighter still; coconut and sesame are slightly richer for cooler months. If you want to scent it yourself, pair one with an essential oil; for very dry areas, the nourishing oils are heavier.
Popular Types
Lightest & Fastest
Jojoba, grape seed, and safflower, which absorb almost immediately and suit oily or combination skin.
Everyday Comfort
Coconut and sesame, a little richer and better suited to cooler weather or drier skin.
How to Use
Apply a few drops to damp skin after showering and massage in; follow with a moisturiser if you use one, or leave it as the only step. To scent your own, blend two or three drops of essential oil per teaspoon of base for adult topical use and patch test the finished mix. Store away from heat and sunlight, and check the source plant if you have a nut allergy.
