A: For sticks, insert the base of each stick into the small holder holes so the tips are centered under the lid’s cut-outs; close the lid to let smoke vent. For cones, place cones upright on a heat-safe surface inside the box, light the tip, blow out the flame, and close the lid so smoke escapes through the cut-outs.

A: Let ashes cool completely, then tap them out and wipe the interior with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid soaking the wood; keep it dry and occasionally condition with a small amount of natural wood oil if desired.
