10ML Pure Essential Oil – Lavender, Eucalyptus, Rose & More

Being wrong should be cheap. Most people buy a bottle of something unfamiliar, use it four times and find it is not what they pictured. At this size that costs almost nothing, which is exactly why the small bottle exists.

A shelf you can navigate. Colour-coding is rare at this price and it is the difference between a drawer you can use in the dark and one you have to empty onto the counter every time.

We do not repeat the packaging claims. The supplier's images list specific medical effects for several of these oils. None of that appears in our copy, and nothing here is intended to diagnose, treat or prevent anything.

Something to run them in. Three to five drops is a session, so a bottle goes further than it looks. The humidifier and diffuser range covers tank sizes and run times, which is what really decides the drop count.

A colour for every scent. Each bottle carries a coloured block on the label and a matching band at its base. Once you own a dozen small brown bottles that look identical, being able to find the lavender without reading anything stops being a small thing.

Thirty-one directions to try. Citrus, herbs, resins, woods, florals and spice, including a few you rarely see sold singly — fennel, camphor, cajeput, basil. Ten millilitres is the right size for a question you have not answered yet.

Dropper cap fitted. The pipette is part of the bottle rather than a separate piece to find. You count drops into a diffuser or a carrier oil, so a blend that worked can be written down and made again.

The same oil at 100ml. Most of these are stocked from MAYJAM in a full-size bottle too, so the ones that earn a permanent place scale up without changing. Nothing you learn here has to be relearned.

Three to five drops, then adjust. Per 100ml of water in an ultrasonic diffuser. Peppermint, camphor, cinnamon, lemongrass and cajeput carry much further than lavender or vanilla, so start those lower and work up.

Smell it before you commit it. Put a drop on a paper strip and leave it twenty minutes rather than judging from the bottle. Most oils open sharp and settle into something quite different, and that settled version is what a room will hold.

Three at a time is plenty. One citrus, one herb and a single drop of something heavy is a reliable starting shape — sweet orange, rosemary and one drop of patchouli, for instance. Note the counts as you go so the good ones survive.

On skin, only diluted. Six to twelve drops per 30ml of carrier oil for the body and half that for the face, patch tested first. Keep cinnamon, clove and lemongrass out of skin blends, and keep camphor and fennel away from children entirely.

Or into what you make. Candles, melts, bath salts and linen sprays. Ten millilitres goes a long way in a small batch, and a cheap bottle is the right way to test a scent in wax before scaling the recipe.

One botanical per bottle. Each variant is a single named oil rather than a blend, which is what makes it useful as a component. MAYJAM states its sourcing spans several growing regions, France, Australia and Brazil among them.

What the price can and cannot buy. The lavender, eucalyptus, peppermint, tea tree, rosemary, lemongrass, citronella and citrus oils are genuinely affordable at this scale. Jasmine, rose, vanilla and sandalwood are not — those materials cost many multiples of a whole bottle here, and jasmine and vanilla cannot be steam-distilled into essential oil at all. Treat those four as scent.

About the label wording. The bottles read “100% essential oil, therapeutic grade” and the packaging states no fillers, additives or carriers. Therapeutic grade is not a certification any authority issues; we report the manufacturer’s wording without adopting it.

Claims we leave out. Several of the supplier’s images list medical effects for individual oils. We do not carry those over. Where a botanical's long-standing cultural use is worth mentioning, we describe it as historical background, not as an effect.

Small bottles age faster. The more you open a 10ml bottle the more air replaces what you have used, and air is what turns an oil. Cap it firmly and keep it cool and dark rather than beside the diffuser.

Citrus first, resins last. Lemon, sweet orange, grapefruit and bergamot go off well before the rest. Frankincense, sandalwood, patchouli and vetiver-weight oils simply get rounder with a year behind them.

Keep them together. A drawer or a small tray beats a shelf in sunlight, and the colour bands make a stored set genuinely quick to work from. Upright, always — a dropper cap is not a seal against a bottle lying on its side.

Judge it by the smell. Sharp or faintly varnish-like means the oil has oxidised, and an oxidised oil is likelier to irritate skin than a fresh one. Move it to cleaning sprays and diffusing rather than throwing it away.

Never neat on skin, never swallowed. Dilute in a carrier oil before any skin contact, and do not ingest these. Cinnamon, clove, lemongrass and black pepper are among the most likely to burn undiluted.

Camphor and fennel need care. Both carry real cautions — camphor around infants and young children, fennel in pregnancy and for anyone with a hormone-sensitive condition or epilepsy. Ask a qualified professional before using either on the body.

Citrus oils and sunlight. Bergamot, lemon and grapefruit can make skin burn more easily in sun. Keep them off exposed skin for at least twelve hours before daylight, or diffuse them instead.

Children, pregnancy and pets. Peppermint, eucalyptus, rosemary, clary sage and cinnamon all carry cautions in pregnancy or around young children, and cats tolerate diffused oils poorly. Ventilate the room and stop if anyone — or any animal — seems unsettled.

Small bottles, high shelf. A dropper cap is not childproof. Store the set out of reach, away from heat and naked flame, and wipe spills at once — undiluted oil marks polished wood, paint and some plastics.

Caution: For external use only. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Avoid contact with eyes, broken skin, and sensitive areas. Always dilute in a carrier oil before applying to skin, and patch test any oil you have not used before.
