You choose the bottle, not a bundle. Assortments decide for you and usually leave half the box unopened. Buying one scent at a time means every bottle on the shelf is one you actually wanted, and you can add to it as you go.

Water-soluble is the practical difference. Neat oil sits on the surface of a tank and clings to the reservoir. A water-soluble formula mixes in, which makes the output steadier and switching scents a rinse rather than a scrub.

For scenting air, and only that. These are air-fragrance oils rather than essential oils or skincare, and we say so plainly. If you want single-botanical oils for blending or dilution, those are a separate range.

The machine to run it in. Ultrasonic and cool-mist units are stocked alongside the oils in the humidifier and diffuser range, so the oil and the machine come from the same place.

Twenty-five scents to choose. Fresh and green, florals, and the warmer sweet end — sold one bottle at a time, so a shelf of four is four scents you picked rather than an assortment someone else assembled.

Water-soluble formula. These disperse through the water in a tank rather than floating on top of it, which is what keeps the mist even and the reservoir easier to rinse between scents.

Made for misting machines. Three to five drops per 100ml of water is the usual starting point in an ultrasonic or cool-mist unit. No wax, no wicks, no flame — just a machine and a room.

The cheapest way to try. A scent that reads beautifully in a description can be wrong in your living room. At this price, finding that out costs very little, and a bottle still runs to forty or more sessions.

In a diffuser or humidifier. Three to five drops per 100ml of water, adjusted to the size of the room. Use only in a unit whose manufacturer states it accepts fragrance oil, and run it in a ventilated space rather than a sealed one.

Rinse between scents. Empty and wipe the reservoir before switching, or the previous scent carries into the next and both come out muddled. Water-soluble oils make this quicker than neat oils do.

Start low. Add fewer drops than you think you need and build up. A level that seems faint when you walk in is usually right for someone sitting in the room for hours.

Not for skin, and not for food. These are formulated for scenting air. Do not apply them to skin, add them to food or drink, or spray them onto pets, plants or delicate fabrics.

Measuring. Roughly twenty drops make a millilitre, so a 10ml bottle is about two hundred drops — forty to sixty sessions at the usual rate.

Water-soluble fragrance oil. Despite the name on the listing, these are blended fragrance compositions formulated to disperse in water — not single-botanical essential oils. Scents like Ocean, Blue Wind Chime and White Tea exist because they are composed rather than distilled.

Composition varies by scent. Each option is its own formulation. Several scents also appear in a second version marked with a letter, which is a different interpretation of the same name rather than the same oil repackaged.

Documentation on request. If you need allergen or safety data for a specific scent — for a workplace, a rental property or anywhere with people who did not choose the fragrance — ask before ordering so we can check what the supplier holds.

Cool, dark, capped, upright. Keep bottles out of sunlight and away from heat, standing up with the cap closed. A drawer or a box is better than an open shelf beside the diffuser.

Top notes fade first. The bright opening of a scent goes before the body of it does, so an older bottle usually smells flatter rather than wrong. Citrus-led scents show this soonest.

General guide. Stored properly, fragrance oils of this type typically hold their character for a year or two. Treat that as guidance rather than a guarantee, and follow any date printed on the bottle in preference to it.

Mind the surfaces. Undiluted fragrance oil can mark polished and painted finishes and soften some plastics. Fill the tank over something wipeable and clean spills straight away.

For scenting air only. These are not skincare, massage or bath products and they are not food. Do not apply them to skin, do not ingest them, and keep them away from eyes and mucous membranes.

Out of reach of children and pets. Store bottles where they cannot be picked up, and site the diffuser where it cannot be knocked over. Diffuse only in rooms a pet can leave freely, and never spray or apply these onto an animal.

Ventilate, and use sparingly. Run a diffuser in a room with some air movement rather than a closed one, keep sessions moderate rather than continuous, and stop if anyone develops a headache or any irritation.

Away from flame and delicate surfaces. Do not use near an open flame, and avoid spraying or spilling onto plants, polished furniture or delicate fabrics — concentrated oil can mark them.

Only in compatible machines. Use these in units whose manufacturer states they accept fragrance oil. Putting oil into a machine specified for water alone can damage it and will usually void the warranty.

Caution: For external use only. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Avoid contact with eyes, broken skin, and sensitive areas. These are air-fragrance oils for diffusers and humidifiers rather than skincare products, and are not intended for direct application to skin.
