1. Set it on a stable surface. Place the burner on a flat, heat-resistant surface away from curtains and flammable material.

2. Light your cone or charcoal. Light the tip of a cone and let the flame die to an ember, or light a charcoal disc with tongs until it sparks fully.

3. Set it in the bowl. Place the cone or charcoal in the center of the brass bowl.

4. Add granular incense if using charcoal. Sprinkle a small amount of granular incense onto the charcoal once it's ashed over.

5. Let it cool before handling. Once finished, let the bowl cool fully before touching it or emptying the ash.

No shelf life to track. As a solid brass piece, it doesn't expire — care is about preventing tarnish, not freshness.

Storage. Let it cool fully after each use, wipe out ash with a soft cloth, and store it somewhere dry to slow natural tarnish on the brass.
