Set it on your burner. Place the cone on a backflow incense burner for the downward smoke effect, or on a standard heat-safe holder or dish if you don't have one.

Light the tip. Hold a flame to the tip for a few seconds until it catches, then blow out the flame.

Watch the smoke settle. On a backflow burner, the smoke will sink and flow down over the burner's design once the cone gets going; give it a few seconds after lighting.

Let it burn down fully. The cone will smolder and burn down fully on its own in a well-ventilated room — typically around 20 minutes; avoid moving it while lit.

Extinguish and store. Once burned down, confirm the ember is fully out before leaving the room, and store remaining cones in the tin, away from heat and humidity.

Goloka's backflow incense cones are hand-crafted from natural fragrance materials; the exact formulation behind the lavender note is proprietary to Goloka and not published by the manufacturer. If you have known fragrance sensitivities or allergies, we recommend burning a single cone in a well-ventilated space before regular use.

Store the tin in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity, both of which can dull the fragrance and make the cones brittle. Kept this way, incense cones generally hold their scent well for 12-24 months, though this is general guidance rather than a supplier-stated date, since Goloka does not print an expiration date on the packaging.

This is a burning product that produces an open ember and smoke when lit. Always burn it in a well-ventilated room, on a stable, heat-safe holder or dish, well away from curtains, papers, and other flammable material. Never leave a burning stick or cone unattended, and keep both the lit product and the ash it produces out of reach of children and pets. Fully extinguish the ember in sand, water, or a dedicated ash catcher before leaving the room, and let the holder cool before handling or emptying the ash.
