Light one end. Hold a flame to one end of the bundle until it catches.

Let it smolder. Blow out the flame so it smolders and smokes.

Waft the smoke. Move the smoke around the space or object you're cleansing.

Extinguish safely. Press the burning end into a fire-safe bowl of sand or earth until fully out. Never leave it unattended.

Store properly. Keep in a cool, dry place between uses.
