Uncommon botanicals included. Vetiver, pine needle and myrrh sit alongside the familiar lavender and eucalyptus — oils that a shorter, curated list would likely have left out.

Priced by the plant. Sandalwood and frankincense sit near the top of the range; sweet orange and grapefruit near the bottom — the spread reflects real cost differences between botanicals, not an arbitrary markup.

Where it runs. Most of it goes into a humidifier or ultrasonic diffuser, with the base notes also holding up well from a tealight burner.

100ml working bottles. Roughly two thousand drops each, built for regular use rather than occasional sampling.

Priced transparently. Each botanical is priced on its own, from $26.05 for sweet orange up to $36.83 for sandalwood.

In a diffuser. Three to six drops per 100ml of water, adjusted to the room; rinse the reservoir between strongly coloured oils like patchouli or myrrh.

In a massage blend. One to five drops per 5ml of carrier oil, roughly one to two percent for body work — halve it for the face and patch test anything new.

In the bath. Four to six drops premixed into a tablespoon of carrier oil, stirred through the water rather than dropped directly onto the surface.

Building a blend. Base notes such as vetiver, sandalwood and patchouli sit underneath; florals like rose and ylang ylang sit through the middle; citrus and mint sit on top.

One botanical per bottle. Each of the thirty-one variants is the essential oil of the plant named on the label, bottled alone rather than blended with anything else.

Thirty-one different chemistries. Vetiver is thick and slow to evaporate, peppermint thin and fast; oregano-family notes are hot on skin where sandalwood is not. Nothing established for one oil carries over automatically to another.

Documentation for makers. If you are selling what you make and need a safety data sheet, allergen declaration or GC report for a specific botanical, ask before ordering so we can check what the supplier holds.

Cool, dark, capped, upright. Heat and daylight are what age an essential oil fastest — keep the bottle standing in a cupboard rather than on a sunny sill.

Citrus first, resins last. Sweet orange, lemon and grapefruit oxidise fastest and turn sharp; vetiver, sandalwood and patchouli are base notes that hold their character far longer.

General guide. Stored properly, most of this range typically holds its character for a year or two; treat that as guidance and follow any date printed on the bottle first.

Mind what it stands on. Undiluted essential oil marks polished and painted surfaces and can soften some plastics — decant over something wipeable.

Never neat, never swallowed. Dilute in a carrier oil before any skin contact, patch test each new oil, and keep every bottle clear of eyes and mucous membranes.

The hot oils. Clove, cinnamon and black pepper irritate skin at concentrations the gentler oils tolerate easily — treat them as the exception in any recipe.

Citrus and sunlight. Bergamot, sweet orange, lemon, grapefruit and tangerine can be phototoxic; keep them off skin that will see direct sun within twelve hours.

Children, pregnancy and pets. Rosemary, clary sage, basil and the hot oils are the ones most often flagged for caution in pregnancy and around young children. Diffuse briefly in a room a pet can leave freely.

Caution: For external use only. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Avoid contact with eyes, broken skin, and sensitive areas. Take particular care with clove, cinnamon and black pepper, which are strong skin sensitisers.
