1. Set it on a stable surface. Place the burner on a flat, heat-resistant surface away from curtains, paper, and other flammable material.

2. Light your charcoal or cone. Light a charcoal disc with tongs until it sparks fully, or light the tip of an incense cone and let the flame die to an ember.

3. Set it on the screen. Place the lit charcoal or cone in the center of the removable screen, not directly on the stone.

4. If using resin, add it once the charcoal is ashed over. Sprinkle a small amount of resin onto the charcoal and let it smoke rather than piling it on all at once.

5. Clean once fully cooled. Lift out the screen and brush away the spent ash or charcoal before the next use.

Open-ember caution. Lit charcoal and incense cones are an open ember and get very hot. Never leave the burner unattended while lit, and use it only on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from flammable materials.

Handle with tools, not hands. Use tongs to place and remove charcoal discs — the screen and stone both get hot enough to burn skin during and after use.

Keep clear. Keep the burner out of reach of children and pets while lit and while cooling.
