Twenty-three is a product line. Clean musks, powdery comfort scents, florals, fruits, coffee and a set of designer-inspired directions. Enough range to build a whole collection without hunting down a second supplier.

The scents that actually sell. Fresh linen, baby powder, coconut vanilla and white musk move steadily in candles and melts all year, in a way unusual botanicals never quite manage. This range is weighted towards what people buy twice.

Test before you commit the batch. Scent throws differently in soy than paraffin, and differently again through soap. A cheap small bottle is how you learn that without pouring twenty candles you cannot sell.

Different tool, different job. For plant-derived oils to diffuse, the Diffuser Essential Oil collection is the right shelf. These are better at wax and soap; those are better at everything else.

Scents no plant produces. Fresh linen, baby powder, coffee, bubble gum, black orchid. There is no still in the world that makes these, which is exactly why they are worth having on the shelf beside your essential oils.

They survive the pour. Composed fragrances hold their shape through 70°C wax and a fortnight of curing. A natural citrus in the same candle is gone by the time it reaches a customer.

Ten millilitres is one candle. At an eight per cent load, roughly one medium pour. Precisely the amount you want for testing a scent in your own wax, and precisely the amount you do not want to be stuck with a litre of.

One price across the range. No plant yield to price around, so the rose costs what the linen costs. Costing a whole product line stays simple instead of turning into a spreadsheet.

Candles: six to ten per cent. Of total wax weight, added at around 65–70°C and stirred for a full two minutes so it binds rather than pooling. Check the maximum your specific wax states — it varies more than any general figure.

Wax melts and soap. Melts take up to about eight per cent; cold-process soap three to six. Test a small bar first — some fragrance oils accelerate trace, and you want to know that before a full batch seizes in the pot.

Diffusers and burners. Five to ten drops in an ultrasonic tank, three to five in an oil burner's dish. Only use a machine that states it accepts fragrance oil; some specify essential oil alone.

Reed diffusers. Into a proper reed base rather than a carrier oil, which is too thick to climb the reeds. Roughly a quarter fragrance to three quarters base is a workable starting ratio.

Cure before you judge. A candle smells quite different two weeks after pouring than it does on the day. Do not rework a recipe on the evidence of a fresh pour.

Fragrance oil, not essential oil. These are composed perfumery blends rather than plant distillates. That is what lets them reproduce coffee, linen or bubble gum — scents no plant produces — and hold their shape through heat.

The twenty-three. White musk, fresh linen, baby powder, coconut vanilla, sea breeze, freesia, honeysuckle, orange blossom, black orchid, parma violet, japanese magnolia, peach, mandarin, bubble gum, coffee, and eight interpretations of well-known designer perfumes.

On the designer names. Those bottles carry the names of famous fragrances to describe the scent direction. They are independent interpretations by MAYJAM — not the perfumes themselves, not licensed by and not connected to the houses that own those names.

Ask if you need the data sheet. If you are selling what you make, you will want the safety data sheet and IFRA certificate for your category. Tell us the scent and we will request them from the supplier before you order.

Steadier than essential oils. A composed fragrance oil does not oxidise the way a pressed citrus does, so it keeps its character considerably longer. Cool, dark and tightly capped is still the rule.

Vanillins darken. Anything with vanilla in it — coconut vanilla, baby powder, several of the designer interpretations — will brown over time and can discolour a pale candle or soap. That is normal, not spoilage, but plan colours around it.

Keep them off finished surfaces. Undiluted fragrance oil attacks polished wood, paint and some plastics far more aggressively than a diluted blend. Work over something you can wipe.

Label what you make. Write the scent and the load percentage on the base of every test candle. In six weeks you will not remember which of the four was the eight per cent one.

Not for direct skin application. This is concentrated fragrance oil. The supplier's images show perfume-making among the uses, but that means proper dilution in perfumer's alcohol at a safe percentage — not putting the oil on skin.

Do not ingest. Not food, not a flavouring, and not for lip products unless you have documentation that specifically permits it. Keep away from eyes and mucous membranes.

Selling what you make? Candles and cosmetics sold to the public need safety documentation and correct labelling in most countries. Ask us for the data sheet before you build a product around a scent.

Flammable, and hot work. Keep the bottle away from naked flame and add to wax off the heat source rather than over it. Never leave melting wax unattended.

Out of reach. Store capped, cool and dark, away from children and pets. The sweeter scents smell edible and the bottles are small.
