Warm, earthy, slightly sweet. Warm and resinous with an earthy base and a faint sweetness, which is myrrh at full strength rather than diluted through a stick.

One ounce goes a long way. An ounce of granules, burned a pinch at a time, lasts far longer than the weight suggests.

Blends with other resins. Pairs readily with frankincense or other resins if you want to make up your own blend rather than burn it alone.

Light a charcoal disc. Hold a flame to the edge of an incense charcoal disc until it sparks and begins to glow across its surface.

Set it in a burner. Place the lit disc in a heat-safe burner or a dish of sand, on a stable, non-flammable surface, and give it a minute or two to ash over.

Add a small pinch. Drop a small pinch of resin onto the hot charcoal — a little goes a long way, and more can always be added once the first pinch has burned off.

Ventilate and enjoy. Burn in a well-ventilated room, away from flammable objects, children, and pets, and let the charcoal and burner cool completely before emptying them.
