The range is the reason. Twenty-four profiles is unusually broad for a hotel range. It means you can match a specific atmosphere rather than settling for the nearest available approximation, which is what most scenting programmes end up doing.

Buy the trial, not the year's supply. Committing to half a litre of an unheard scent is how venues end up with a stockroom full of something nobody liked. This is the size that makes being wrong cheap.

Metered by the machine, not by hand. The oil goes neat into a scent machine's reservoir and is released at a rate the unit controls. That is what holds a room at one level through a trading day, rather than the peaks and gaps of anything sprayed.

The machines to run it in. Cold-air and nebulising units suit it best. The humidifier and diffuser range sets out what each machine accepts, which is worth checking before the first fill.

Twenty-four profiles. From the familiar names through to the quieter luxury end — Four Seasons, St Regis, Rosewood, Mandarin Oriental, Sofitel. If a particular property's atmosphere is what you have in mind, the corresponding profile is probably in the list.

Trial before volume. A signature scent is a decision you live with for months, and the same oil reads differently in a stone lobby than in a carpeted suite. A hundred millilitres is enough to run a profile properly in the actual room before committing to half a litre of it.

Sealed aluminium. Daylight is what ages an aroma oil fastest, and metal admits none of it. For stock that sits in a cupboard between refills, that matters more than a bottle that looks good on a shelf.

The same oil at 500ml. Every profile here is available in a half-litre bottle, so scaling up after a successful trial changes the quantity and nothing else — no reformulation, no surprise when the larger bottle arrives.

Into the reservoir, neat. Cold-air and nebulising scent machines take this oil undiluted. Fill to the level your unit's manual specifies rather than to a fixed measure, since capacities differ widely between machines.

Check before using it in water. Water-based ultrasonic diffusers vary — some manufacturers permit aroma oil in the tank, others specify essential oil only. Consult the manual, and where it is allowed, three to ten drops per 100ml of water is the usual range.

Trial it where it will live. Run a profile in the actual room for several days before deciding. Hard surfaces and air conditioning change how a scent behaves, and a profile that works in a small office can be overwhelming in a corridor.

Start low, raise over days. Set the lowest useful output and increase it gradually. People working in a scented space stop noticing it while visitors do not, so calibrate for the person walking in rather than the person at the desk.

Clean between profiles. Run the machine dry and wipe the reservoir before switching. Residue from the previous oil mixes with the next and muddies both, which is the usual reason a changed scent smells wrong.

A composed aroma blend. Each profile is a formulated fragrance built to reproduce a particular atmosphere consistently from batch to batch, rather than a single-botanical distillate.

Composition varies by profile. The twenty-four are separate formulations, so nothing established about one applies to another — including how it behaves in a particular machine or how strongly it carries in a large space.

Documentation for commercial use. If you are scenting a workplace, clinic, gym or other public space, ask before ordering and we will check what allergen or safety data the supplier holds for that profile. Anywhere staff spend full shifts in the scent, that is worth having on file.

The bottle does half the work. Sealed aluminium keeps daylight off the oil completely. What is left to you is heat and air — store it cool and keep the cap tight between fills.

Not beside the machine. Stock tends to get stored wherever there is space, which is often a warm cupboard near equipment. A cool stockroom shelf is meaningfully better for anything that will sit for months.

General guide. Aroma oils of this type typically hold their character for around two years unopened when stored properly. Treat that as guidance rather than a guarantee, and follow any batch or date information on the bottle in preference to it.

Judge it by the scent. An aged oil loses its opening lift first and reads flatter through a machine. If a familiar profile suddenly seems weaker, check the oil before turning the output up.

Scenting equipment only. This is an ambient aroma oil for diffuser and scent-machine reservoirs. It is not a skincare or massage product and not food — do not apply it to skin or swallow it.

Ventilate, and keep the level moderate. Scent a space with some air movement rather than a sealed one, and remember staff experience it for far longer than visitors do. Stop if anyone reports headaches or irritation.

Decant carefully. Fill over a surface you can wipe. Concentrated aroma oil marks polished, painted and plastic finishes, and it is easier to prevent a spill than to clean one.

Away from heat, flame and reach. Store capped and cool, clear of heat sources and naked flame, and out of reach of children and pets.

Only in machines rated for it. Putting aroma oil into a unit specified for water alone can damage it and usually voids the warranty. Check the manual before the first fill.
