The size the running costs live at. A hundred millilitres tells you whether you like a scent. Five hundred is what you buy once you know, and the difference per millilitre is the whole argument for committing to a profile you have already lived with.

Priced by profile, not averaged. The twenty-four are separate formulations and some cost more to compose than others, so each is priced on its own. You pay for the scent you chose rather than subsidising the rest of the range.

Built for rooms that never empty. The supplier photographs it in hotel lobbies, shopping malls, bars, reception and meeting rooms, shop floors and office buildings. Those are spaces where the scent runs all day, and where a small bottle turns into a weekly errand.

The machines to run it in. Cold-air and nebulising units suit it best. The humidifier and diffuser range sets out what each machine accepts, which is worth reading before you commit half a litre to a reservoir.

Three months from one bottle. At the 150ml a month the supplier gives as a machine's typical consumption, half a litre runs a single unit for about a quarter of the year. Reordering stops being something you think about every few weeks.

Twenty-four hotel profiles. Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton, Westin and Holiday Inn sit alongside the quieter luxury end — Four Seasons, St Regis, Rosewood, Mandarin Oriental, Sofitel, Kempinski, Shangri-La. Whatever atmosphere you have in mind, the matching profile is probably in the list.

One scent, held steady. Poured neat into a cold-air or nebulising machine, the oil is released at a rate the unit controls. That is what keeps a lobby at one level from opening to close, rather than the peaks and gaps of anything sprayed by hand.

Sealed aluminium, two years stated. Daylight ages an aroma oil faster than anything else, and metal admits none of it. The manufacturer states a two-year shelf life; for a bottle that sits between refills, the packaging is doing real work.

Neat into the reservoir. Cold-air and nebulising scent machines take this oil undiluted. Fill to the level your unit's manual specifies rather than to a fixed measure, since reservoir capacities differ widely between machines.

Check before putting it in water. Ultrasonic diffusers vary: some manufacturers permit aroma oil in the tank, others specify essential oil alone. Where it is allowed, three to ten drops per 100ml of water is the usual range.

Plan the refill interval. About 150ml a month is the supplier's figure for a machine on a timer, so one bottle is roughly three months on a single unit and about six weeks across two. Set a reminder rather than discovering it empty on a busy morning.

Calibrate for the person walking in. Start at the lowest useful output and raise it across several days. Staff stop registering a scent that visitors still notice, so the level that feels right at the desk is usually too strong at the door.

Run dry before you switch. Empty and wipe the reservoir when changing profiles. Residue from the last oil mixes into the next and muddies both, which is almost always why a new scent smells wrong on its first day.

What the manufacturer lists. The parameter sheet on the packaging gives the contents as plant extractions, fragrance materials and volatile liquids formulated for diffusers. These are composed aroma blends, built to reproduce an atmosphere consistently from batch to batch rather than single-botanical distillates.

The concentration claim is theirs. The packaging describes the oil as eight times concentrated and free of fillers and additives. That is the manufacturer's wording and we pass it on rather than adopting it as our own claim; read it alongside the ingredient listing above.

Each profile is its own formulation. Nothing you learn about one scent carries over to another — not how strongly it projects, not how it behaves in a particular machine. Treat a new profile as a new product, even at the same price.

Documentation on request. The supplier holds SGS test reports, a material safety data sheet and certificates of analysis. If you are scenting a workplace, clinic, gym or other public space, ask before ordering and we will request the paperwork for your profile.

Two years, per the parameter sheet. That is the manufacturer's figure for an unopened bottle stored properly. Treat it as guidance, and follow any batch or date marking on the bottle in preference to it.

The bottle does half the work. Sealed aluminium keeps daylight off the oil entirely. What is left to you is heat and air — a cool shelf, and the cap tightened properly between refills.

Not beside the equipment. Bulk stock ends up wherever there is space, which is often a warm cupboard next to the machines. Half a litre will sit for months, so the cool stockroom shelf is worth the walk.

Judge it by the opening. An aged oil loses its top notes first and reads flatter through a machine. If a familiar profile suddenly seems weak, check the oil before you turn the output up.

Scenting equipment only. This is an ambient aroma oil for diffuser and scent-machine reservoirs. It is not a skincare, massage or bath product and not food — do not apply it to skin or swallow it.

Half a litre needs a careful hand. A large bottle is easier to spill than a small one. Decant over a surface you can wipe: concentrated aroma oil marks polished wood, paint and some plastics, and preventing a spill is far easier than clearing one.

Ventilate, and think about the staff. Scent a space with some air movement rather than a sealed one. People working in it are exposed for far longer than visitors are, so stop if anyone reports headaches or irritation.

Away from heat, flame and reach. Store capped and cool, clear of heat sources and naked flame, and out of reach of children and pets.

Only in machines rated for it. Putting aroma oil into a unit specified for water alone can damage it and usually voids the warranty. Check the manual before the first fill.
