Light the tip. Hold a flame to the tip of the stick for a few seconds until it catches and glows.

Fan out the flame. Gently fan the flame out rather than blowing it, so the ember settles evenly.

Place in a holder. Set the stick in a stable, fire-safe holder that will catch the ash as it falls.

Ventilate and enjoy. Burn in a well-ventilated room and allow roughly 30-45 minutes for the stick to finish. Empty the holder once the ash has cooled.
