Auroshikha Incense Cones

By Jennifer Campbell — Modern Aromatherapy. Working in aromatherapy retail since 2015.

Long before scented candles and diffusers, people were lighting small cones of resin and herb and letting the fragrance do its quiet work. Auroshikha Incense Cones carry that tradition into your home — made in Auroville, India, from natural essential oils, flower extracts and plant-based resins, with no charcoal or synthetic fragrance.

An honest note: the scents below are described by how people tend to experience them — for mood, atmosphere and ritual, not as medical treatments. Enjoy them mindfully and burn in a well-ventilated space.

9 Auroshikha Cones — and When to Burn Each

1. Vanilla — Warm and Comforting

Sweet, warm and familiar, vanilla fills a room with a gentle calm. Lovely for: quiet evenings, journaling, and winding down before sleep.

2. Surya Rose — Bright and Floral

Named after Surya, the Hindu sun god, this deep rose scent is both grounding and uplifting. Lovely for: morning rituals and a romantic, vibrant atmosphere. Rose lovers will also enjoy our Precious Rose Gift Set.

3. Singapore Patchouli — Earthy and Grounding

Deep, rich and unmistakably earthy, patchouli brings an immediate sense of stillness. Lovely for: yoga, meditation, or any time you want to feel anchored.

4. Purity Jasmine — Fresh and Floral

Sweet and delicately floral, jasmine makes a room feel lighter and brighter. Lovely for: relaxation, romantic evenings, or lifting a heavy-feeling space.

5. Opium — Rich and Mysterious

Bold, layered and luxurious, Opium creates an immersive, introspective atmosphere. Lovely for: nighttime rituals, creative sessions, long baths, or reading before bed.

6. Lemongrass — Crisp and Citrusy

Bright and refreshing, lemongrass is one of the most versatile scents in the range. Lovely for: mornings, workspaces and focus sessions, or freshening up a room.

7. Krishna Musk — Soft and Devotional

Named after Lord Krishna, this soft, musky fragrance settles quietly into a room and makes it feel like a sanctuary. Lovely for: prayer rooms, altars, and quiet, intentional spaces.

8. Indra Sandal — Sacred Sandalwood

Woody, creamy and sacred, sandalwood has been used in temples and meditation halls for thousands of years. Lovely for: meditation, morning and evening rituals, and yoga. Sandalwood devotees will love our Precious Sandalwood Gift Set.

9. Frankincense — Ancient and Elevating

One of the oldest aromatic ingredients in human history, frankincense has a resinous, slightly citrus-edged scent with a real sense of the sacred, traditionally used for purification rituals. Lovely for: prayer, meditation, and creating a reflective, sacred atmosphere.

Why Auroshikha?

Based in Auroville, one of the world's best-known intentional communities, Auroshikha reflects a commitment to natural ingredients and traditional craftsmanship. Every cone is hand-rolled using traditional Indian techniques, made with natural essential oils and plant-based resins, and free from charcoal and synthetic additives — so it burns cleanly and smells authentic.

Match Your Mood to the Right Cone

How to Burn Auroshikha Cones Properly

  1. Prepare your space. Choose a clean, ventilated area — a slightly open window helps.
  2. Set an intention. Take a breath and decide what you want the moment to bring.
  3. Use a proper cone burner. Our Ceramic Backflow Waterfall Burner is designed for cones and creates a downward smoke-waterfall effect. The Pentagram Backflow Cone Burner and Mountain Waterfall Burner are lovely too.
  4. Light the tip until it catches, then gently blow it out so the cone glows and smoulders. Never leave it unattended.
  5. Breathe and be present. Sit with the fragrance as it fills the space.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often can I use them?
Daily is fine. Being all-natural, they don't produce the harsh smoke of many synthetic brands — just ventilate the room.

Are they safe around pets?
Safer than synthetic incense, but animals have sensitive noses, so burn in a ventilated space and watch for any discomfort.

Do they contain harmful chemicals?
No — natural resins, plant-based essential oils and flower extracts, with no synthetic fragrance, charcoal or chemical binders.

Can I use cones for meditation and yoga?
Yes — Frankincense, Indra Sandal and Patchouli are especially popular for a grounded, focused practice.

How long does each cone burn?
Around 20–30 minutes, leaving a gentle fragrance for hours afterward.

Cones or sticks?
Cones burn faster with a more concentrated scent; sticks are slower and steadier. See our full guide to the difference between incense cones and sticks.
